Okay, so this morning I did this study for a uni study, it was mean, found out I have above average IQ, and perfect hearing. Mean.
No excuses for being a deaf cunt.

Anyway, on my way home I decided to wait for the bus cause it was only 5 mins away.
Sitting at the bus stop, there was this old lady and this middle aged man.
The middle aged man was waiting for the 007 and the old lady the 757, which is my bus.

I was over hearing them talk, and she said she was 97.
NINTY FUCKING SEVEN and she could walk reasonably well, and still have decent hearing from what I could gather.

So anyway, the lady said her Doctor told her to catch a bus home, rather than the docter drive her, I didn't know the story so I have no comment.

The 007 is a bus that comes every hour, and had just pulled up. The middle aged man, said he would wait for the 757 to come for the old lady. I was stunned. The man was willing to wait an HOUR just so this lady could catch a bus that was coming in 3 or 4 mins.

This man was so kind hearted and selfless. It's made me rethink the way I look at where I live, maybe it's just the kids my age that suck. And everyone else is nice. I don't know, I'm usually too busy running from people to take notice. But from now I'm gonna try and be a better person.
This has really set me up for an amazing weekend, heres hoping it stays consistent.

So I finished work like 10 mins late tonight, effectively missing my bus to town from Takapuna.

So today, I went into WINZ, to apply for the benefit, get help looking for a job etc.
I went to this Seminar at like 8:45, was supposed to start at 8:30 but they're shit lazy cunts. The seminar was all good, sat there for like 20mins listen to this n00b as guy fumble on his words and say the same shit over and over again.
He then gave us there forms to fill out, Name, Address, Phone Number, Job Preference, etc. Easy as filled out like 2nd or 3rd, went downstairs and waited for my name to be called.
Now.
Since I live in Glen Innes, the majority of the population is Poly/Maori, whatever i don't mind. I can stared out and people try and jump me when I got to the shops, whatever I can run faster than them anyway. So as I was saying, I was waiting for my name to be called, I thought it was either gonna be Alphabetical or by time handed in, either way I should have gone early. But no, this was not the case. It was me and this other white dude sitting there while every other mother fucker got called before us. An entire office of Islanders serving the Islanders before me and this other white dude. I've got a stack of books in my room that needs finishing, it's kinda depressing. I start a new book all stoked on it, it's a good read, then I forget it.
The Last Juror, Halo: The Flood, Dune, Street Fighter II part 2.
And with this website I'm making for my dad, there seems like I'll have even less time to read these books. I dunno, maybe I'll try and get as much done as possible on it tonight and read the last 100 pages of The Last Juror to put me to sleep.

Had possibly the weirdest weekend ever.
Friday was Jeffs funeral, a lot of people attended it was nice to know that many cared for him. That night I went to that metal as show, just to be with my friends and then Matt bings party, again, just to be with friends. I got about one hours sleep and felt like shit. Had some laughs filming in the morning. Then walked to Ellerslie, used my last $4 to get to town and hung out with Dave. Bussed back to my house, got my passport and some more money quick shower then headed back to town. Went to nerd bar for about half an hour hung with some chill dudes. Went to Yasmins party, full of people having sex, was a lot of fun heckling them. Don't try and root people at party full of people so early in the night, you're bound to get walking in on. Left Yasmins and went to Missing Teeths last show, Richie couldn't get in so we sat outside for like two hours talking to and about random people we saw.
Sunday was long. Currently writing a new song for Buzzkill.

Lately I feel I've become an inconvience to all my friends. Because I've chosen different lifestyles I feel there is this constant invisible wall seperating us. Maybe I'm just losing touch with the world. I used to be on top of the mother fucker, now I sit down here, at the bottom of the bottom, hoping for change. I gotta stop hoping things will get better, I gotta start making things in my world better. People tell me to stop worrying about myself and worry about whats happening out beyond myself. Poverty, Disease, Famine, Wars and Racism. These have been around hundreads of years, I'm sure they can wait for me to get my life together before I make futile attempts to solve them. Times not waiting up for me. It's moving faster than I'd like. Think of me how you will, but I'm just me. After I cut all the shit, how did I go from the top to the bottom? "everyday I wake up the same, void of change or aim"

Google Chrome

Very, very average.
Looks alright, got that Vista thing going on. Not as fast as Opera 9.5 I'm afraid so I dunno where all this hype about speed is coming from.
I've spent ages customizing my Opera Browser so maybe I'm bias about the looks. But it's defiantly not as fast. One thing about it, like firefox, is it has spell check, which is awesome.
It has "most visited" which is kinda like speed dial on Opera, but not as customizable.

But in saying all of this Google Chrome is still in BETA so all judgments will be reserved until the full version launches.

My Dads moving away next week. He's moving down to Tauranga, becuase there simply isn't enough work for him in Auckland. Being a rooftiler here is too competitive. My Mum wants to move down with him for four months, after her course is finished, which is in November. Leaving me and my sister alone in Auckland. So pretty much I have 2 months to sort everything out in my life or I move to Tauranga.

This is something I don't want to publicly post, so I won't. All I'll say is a good friend of mine has moved away and I'll probably never see him again. This upsets me. But it's for the good. I don't know how to feel about the whole ordeal. This is the first time I've ever felt neutral, in my entire life.

In other news Nerd Bar was fun tonight. Kinda stink that these random dudes joined are game. They were pro as and took all the fun out of it. Still got to hang with some cool dudes. Not my usual crew, but still awesome to hang with nontheless. Mixed weekend.

Seasons by Wait in Vain.

It's hard to come across bands this sincire, not since American Nightmare or Modern Life is War have I heard a band with this much meaning. Fronted by Ex-Trial and Ex-Champion vocalist Timm McIntosh, think heavier, darker champion. This album has some crushing riffs, coupled with slow melodic parts. I highly recommend listning to the song "A Blind Eye" and "Seasons" both are very personal and passionate. Wait in Vain Myspace

Longing for Summer

I want summer again. For many reasons. 1) It's my birthday, so that means I'm getting my first leg tattoo done. 2) I wasted last summer. Sure, I went camping over new years, which was fucking amazing, but it wasn't enough. I miss the Gold Coast summers, the ones where we'd lie under the stars and it was warm summer nights so you could still wear t-shirt and shorts. Midnight bike rides. Long walks down short beaches.

I swear, I won't waste this summer.

Having some deep and serious conversation with a friend made me think. I have it kinda bad, but it could be waaaay worse. I mean, my family struggles to pay the rent and the bills each month. We manage. Our cupboards hardly have food in them. I don't starve. My family fights. I escape it. My parents have tried their hardest to give me everything that I need, make sure I get the most out of life. I need to show my appreciation more. I guess I should look at the brightside more.

Having friends to talk to, even if it's over the internet, is my silver lining.

I haven't been home in a week, but I did hear about it when it was announced, I feel it deserves a blogpost.
Possibly the biggest announcement in gaming this year? I'd say so. Its been 10 years since Blizzards last installment of the series and it has been a very long 10 years, but this is looking to be worth that fucking wait.

Most people will have seen those vidoes but I threw them up just incase. Witchdoctor looks pretty fucking cool. And the destructible environments is a nice touch. Keep posted for more screens and videos on blizzard.com

Have Heart-Songs to Scream at the Sun

So I got the new Have Heart Album "Songs to Scream at the Sun" and upon first listen I can tell you it's VERY different.
But different is good. Less posi-More dark. Don't get me wrong this album is still posi, just not as Things We Carry or What Counts. Pat has changed his vocal style to a heavier more agressive in your face style, it works. Anyone who picked up the downloadable demo "You Can't Go Home Again" will know what I'm talking about.

This album has pounding riffs and powerful lyrics, the song Brotherly Love comes to mind, which features Verse vocalist. The Taste of the Floor is short but sweet, the lyrics "but the lonliness, of our togetherness, creates an empty nest, for the emptiness, freezing in this chest." Pat has always writting amazing lyrics, but this is his best work to date.

With the album artwork, It's a stunning aray of simple photos that fit to the song they're placed next to. With the middle page full of photos of the band and places they've been which fits with the instrumental "Reflections." The amount of effort that has gone into putting this together shows, and even if you weren't a fan of Have Heart before, you will like this one. Things We Carry is one of the best hardcore albums there is, Songs to Scream at the Sun is better.

p.s if you thought Watch Me Rise was one of the best ways to end an album....This tops it.

Super Smash Bros Brawl

So it's yet to be released in Australia/New Zealand, but i did manage to get my grubby little hands on this title today.
And holy fuck balls, it's amazing. It has lived up to the hype built around it like so few games have. Albeit, it's a Nintendo title, in which case most extremely hyped Nintendo games to live up to their hype (SM:Galaxy, LoZ:Twilight Princess, Metriod Prime3:Corruption etc).

The graphics are amazing, (so glad i got that new 1080p 36" widescreen now :]), the option to change between the different controller options (with ease, I might add) is a major bonus, HUGE character selection, and (despite what most say) Subspace is amazing (this is where the graphics and the power of the Wii shine).

60fps makes this game chaotic and 480p looks stellar, one of the best looking Wii games to date. Since I've only clocked up 4hours today on it, I'm nowhere near done. There is simply too much to do. In single player alone, there is Classic Brawl, Subspace and Arena. Then there is mulit-player (which can be played alone with cpu char) which has free-for-all matches and different varitions of brawl (make all characters metal, have bunny hoods etc). Which brings me to my next point, the items, there are sooooo many battle items, and equally as much Trophies. This time around, though we have stickers, which(so far) work the same as Trophies, you collect them in Subspace and Classic Brawl.

And the final thing you wanna hear about is the Final Smash, seeing as I'm slightly xenophobic when it comes to any fighting games (I stick to very few characters) but from what I've seen of Link, Mario and Fox they are so much fun to do, and when that Final Smash ball floats around the screen, it's chaos to see who gets it.

The Legend of: The Legend of Zelda

I thought I should give homage to my favorite video game series of all time. Tell you the history and why I love it so.
The Legend of Zelda was started in 1986 by Shigeru Miyamoto based on his fantasies growing up as a child in Japan. Based from his experiences playing in the garden and monsters he created and feared as a child. There is a total of 14 games in the series (excluding the philips CD-i games).
All games have crossed all of Nintendo's platforms. And each one has sold hundreds of thousands of copies, most millions.

Here is the list of games in order of release date. Legend of Zelda(1986, NES), Adventure of Link (1987, NES), A Link to the Past(1991, SNES), Links Awakening(1993, GB, Re-released on GBC in 1998), Ocarina of Time(1998, N64), Majora's Mask(2000, N64), Oracle of Seasons/Ages (Simultaneous release 2001, GBC), A Link to the Past re-release w/ 4Swords (2003, GBA), Wind Waker(2003, GBA), Twilight Princess (2006, Wii), Phantom Hourglass(2007, DS).

There is no official time line to the series, but there are various theories put out by fans. Some are obvious, though, such as Legend of Zelda before Adventures of Link, Ocarina of Time comes before Majora's Mask and Wind Waker before Phantom Hourglass, this is only known because Nintendo released them as "official" sequels.

The reason this game holds that special place in my heart is because it was (at the time) so unique. The amount of detail/exploration on the original game for an 8-bit NES title is staggering. And it was the first console game to use a save system, using Battery Powered RAM. Another reason I love this series is because each games world is just so large. There has been no half ass sized game to date. Also, the enemies are so original and the boss battles are epic as fuck. The stories, well the zelda universe in general is just so fascinating, the creatures, the people, Hyrule, everything has a history, a reason for being and if you look hard enough you will find those reasons.

I really don't know where I wanna go with this blogspot.
But something that's caught my attention recently is Metal Gear Solid 4 (MGS4). This game looks fucking sick. Like, "HOLY SHIT I WANNA SPEND MORE THAN I SHOULD ON A PS3 SO I CAN PLAY THIS ONE GAME" good. Heres a link to the teaser site.
